Ralph T. H. (Ralph Thomas Hotchkin) Griffith
Ralph Thomas Hotchkin Griffith (1826–1906) was a British Indologist known for his translations of ancient Indian texts. He is best remembered for his English translations of the "Rigveda," the "Sama Veda," and other important Vedic texts, which played a significant role in introducing these works to the Western world. His translation of the "Rigveda" was first published in the late 19th century and remains a significant scholarly resource. Griffith was also the principal of the Benares College in India, where he continued his academic work on Sanskrit and Indian literature.
