W. Herbert Dunton
W. Herbert Dunton (1878–1936) was an American painter, illustrator, and writer known for his depictions of the American West. Initially working as a commercial illustrator, Dunton contributed illustrations to popular magazines such as "Harper's Weekly" and "Collier's." He later transitioned to fine art, becoming a founding member of the Taos Society of Artists in New Mexico. His works, including "Western Range Life," reflect a deep appreciation for the lives of cowboys, hunters, and Native Americans, capturing the rugged beauty of Western landscapes.
