Hawrê Qandil is a Kurdish researcher, writer, and historian from Southern Kurdistan whose work focuses on Kurdish identity, history, and cultural heritage. Across more than thirty-five years of research, he has dedicated his work to documenting and preserving Kurdish historical and national identity.
His writings emphasise the connection between people, culture, and the natural environment of Kurdistan, highlighting the importance of protecting its land, mountains, rivers, forests, and wildlife as part of preserving national heritage.
Qandil also explores themes of self-determination, equality, justice, and the future of Kurdistan. He argues that recognition of Kurdish identity and cultural rights contributes to peace, stability, and democratic development.
His vision promotes dignity and coexistence among nations and supports the right of all peoples to preserve their identity and culture. His publications continue to be a source for readers and researchers interested in Kurdish history, culture, and contemporary thought.
