Guy Newell Boothby
Guy Newell Boothby (1867–1905) was an Australian-born British author best known for his popular adventure and supernatural novels. He gained fame with his series of novels about the criminal mastermind, Dr. Nikola, starting with "A Bid for Fortune" (1895). Boothby was prolific, writing over fifty novels, many of which were serialized in magazines. His other notable works include "Pharos the Egyptian" (1899), a chilling tale of the supernatural, and "The Lust of Hate" (1898).
