Gelett Burgess
Gelett Burgess (1866-1951) was an American artist, art critic, poet, author, and humorist best known for his humorous verse and whimsical drawings. He famously coined the term "blurb" and wrote the nonsense poem "The Purple Cow," which became a classic in American literature. Burgess also contributed significantly to early 20th-century humor and satire through his magazine "The Lark."
