W. C. (William Charles) Scully
William Charles Scully (1855–1943) was a South African writer and magistrate known for his novels, poetry, and autobiographical works. His writings often focused on South African life, capturing the country's landscapes, culture, and colonial tensions. Among his notable works are "The White Hecatomb" (1897), a collection of short stories, and "A Vendetta of the Desert" (1898), a novel set in the Karoo region. Scully's autobiography, "Reminiscences of a South African Pioneer" (1913), offers vivid insights into his experiences during the early years of South African colonialism.
