Thomas Gent
Thomas Gent (1693–1778) was an English printer and writer, best known for his historical and topographical works. He operated a printing press in York and produced various books, pamphlets, and broadsides, many of which he wrote and illustrated himself. Some of his notable works include "The Antient and Modern History of the Famous City of York" and "The History of Ripon." Gent's writing often focused on local history, capturing the essence of Northern England during his time.
