Robert Shea was an American novelist and editor best known for co-authoring the cult classic "The Illuminatus! Trilogy" with Robert Anton Wilson. The trilogy, blending conspiracy theories, science fiction, and countercultural themes, has become influential in both literature and alternative subcultures. In addition to "Illuminatus!", Shea wrote historical novels such as "Shike" and "All Things Are Lights." Before his writing career, Shea worked as an editor for Playboy magazine and was deeply interested in history, mysticism, and anarchism.
