Paul B. (Paul Belloni) Du Chaillu
Paul Belloni Du Chaillu was a French-American explorer, zoologist, and writer best known for his exploration of equatorial Africa in the mid-19th century. He gained fame for his accounts of gorillas in "Explorations and Adventures in Equatorial Africa" (1861), introducing the species to much of the Western world. His later works, like "The Viking Age" (1889), contributed to the study of Scandinavian history and Norse mythology. Du Chaillu's adventurous spirit and detailed writings made him a notable figure in both African exploration and historical research.
