Mel Hunter
Mel Hunter was an American science fiction illustrator and writer, known for his detailed and imaginative artwork that graced the covers of numerous sci-fi magazines, particularly "The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction". He also illustrated books such as "Operation Luna" and "A Case of Conscience." Born in 1927, Hunter had a distinctive style often featuring space exploration and futuristic landscapes. Beyond his illustrations, he also wrote short stories, contributing to the broader sci-fi genre.

You are not supposed to believe this story, and if you ask Sam Yoder about it, he is apt to say that it's all a lie. But Sam is a bit sensitive about it.
