Lucy Crane
Lucy Crane (1842–1882) was an English writer, translator, and art critic, best known for her work in children's literature. She translated and retold the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales, publishing them in "Household Stories from the Collection of the Brothers Grimm," with illustrations by her brother, Walter Crane. Along with her literary work, she contributed essays and lectures on art and education, particularly focusing on the role of women in these fields. Lucy Crane's efforts helped make classical fairy tales accessible to English-speaking children, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of children's literature.
