John Richard Green
John Richard Green (1837–1883) was an English historian, best known for his work on British history. His most famous book, "A Short History of the English People" (1874), emphasized social and cultural developments over political events, offering a new approach to historical writing. Green's health issues forced him to abandon his work as a clergyman, allowing him to focus fully on his historical research and writing. Despite his short life, his work had a significant impact on how history was studied and understood in the 19th century.
