James Ford Rhodes
James Ford Rhodes (1848–1927) was an American historian known for his comprehensive work on the history of the United States, particularly the Civil War era. He authored the multi-volume "History of the United States from the Compromise of 1850," which became a significant reference for understanding the political and social climate of the time. Rhodes was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in History in 1918 for his book "History of the Civil War, 1861–1865." His work is notable for its detailed analysis and his support for the view that slavery was the primary cause of the Civil War.
