James Arthur Kjelgaard
James Arthur Kjelgaard (1910–1959) was an American author best known for his young adult novels, often featuring animals and the outdoors. He wrote more than 40 books during his career, including "Big Red," a popular story about a boy and his Irish Setter that was later adapted into a Disney film.
