J. Theodore (James Theodore) Bent
James Theodore Bent (1852–1897) was a British explorer, archaeologist, and author known for his extensive travels throughout the Middle East, Africa, and Greece. He conducted significant archaeological excavations and wrote numerous works documenting his findings and adventures. Some of his notable books include "The Cyclades, or Life Among the Insular Greeks" and "The Ruined Cities of Mashonaland," which explored the ancient ruins of Zimbabwe. Bent's work was pioneering for its time, blending travel writing with detailed archaeological research.
