Hugh Lofting
Hugh Lofting (1886–1947) was a British author best known for creating the beloved character Doctor Dolittle, a physician who can communicate with animals. His most famous work, "The Story of Doctor Dolittle" (1920), was originally written as letters to his children while he served in World War I. Lofting wrote a series of books about Doctor Dolittle, blending fantasy, adventure, and a strong sense of compassion for animals. In addition to his literary career, Lofting also illustrated his own books, adding to their charm and appeal.
