Howard R. (Howard Roscoe) Driggs
Howard Roscoe Driggs (1873–1963) was an American writer, educator, and historian known for his contributions to preserving the history of the American West. He wrote extensively on pioneer life and the westward expansion, with notable works including "The Old West Speaks" and "Taming the Frontier." Driggs also served as a professor of English at the University of Utah and New York University. In addition to his books, he was a co-founder and president of the Oregon Trail Memorial Association, helping to preserve important trails and landmarks of the pioneer era.
