Howard Chandler Christy
Howard Chandler Christy (1872–1952) was an American artist and illustrator best known for his "Christy Girl" illustrations, which epitomized the idealized American woman in the early 20th century. He gained fame for his patriotic posters during World War I and later became a prominent portrait artist, painting notable figures such as presidents and military leaders. Christy's work, blending realism with romanticism, significantly influenced American visual culture in his time.
