Harriet L. (Harriet Lummis) Smith
Harriet Lummis Smith (1866–1947) was an American author best known for her work on the "Pollyanna" series. She continued the famous character's adventures in multiple sequels after the original author, Eleanor H. Porter, passed away, beginning with "Pollyanna Grows Up" in 1915. In addition to her work on "Pollyanna," Smith wrote numerous short stories and novels, including "The Uncertain Feast" and "The Cave of Gold." Her writing often focused on optimistic, feel-good themes, much like the popular Pollyanna books.
