Gordon Stables
Gordon Stables was a Scottish physician and prolific writer of adventure fiction, particularly known for his nautical stories aimed at younger readers. Born in 1840, he served as a Royal Navy surgeon before transitioning to a successful career as a novelist and journalist. His best-known works include "The Cruise of the Land Yacht Wanderer" and "Wild Adventures Round the Pole". Stables was also a prominent advocate for outdoor living and an early proponent of caravan travel in Britain.
