George Wharton James
George Wharton James (1858–1923) was an American author, lecturer, and journalist known for his extensive writings on the American Southwest. Originally from England, he became an expert on Native American culture and the natural history of the region. His most notable works include "In and Around the Grand Canyon" and "The Wonders of the Colorado Desert." James was also a photographer and popular lecturer, bringing the beauty and history of the Southwest to a wide audience in the early 20th century.
