George F. (George Frederick) Chambers
George Frederick Chambers (1841–1915) was an English barrister, amateur astronomer, and prolific writer. He is best known for his works on astronomy, including "A Handbook of Descriptive and Practical Astronomy" (1861), which became a reference for many aspiring astronomers. Chambers wrote several books that popularized astronomy for the general public, such as "The Story of the Solar System" (1895) and "The Story of Eclipses" (1899). His contributions helped make the subject more accessible and laid the groundwork for amateur astronomy in Britain.
