George Cupples
George Cupples (1822–1891) was a Scottish author and maritime novelist best known for his sea-themed stories. His notable works include "The Green Hand," which vividly recounts the life of a sailor during the Napoleonic Wars. Cupples also wrote children's literature, including "Captain Herbert," a popular adventure novel. Alongside his wife, Anne Jane Cupples, who was also a prolific author, he contributed significantly to 19th-century British literature.
