Ella Rodman Church
Eliza Rodman McIlvaine Church (1831–1912), known as Ella Rodman and Ella Rodman Church, was a prolific American writer who focused on fiction, children's literature, and homemaking guides. Among her notable works are the collection "Flights of Fancy" and the gothic novel "The Catanese; or, The Real and the Ideal", both published in 1853. She also created educational children's books, including the Elmridge series, emphasizing the natural world through the experiences of a governess. Married to poet and journalist Joseph Moran Church, she contributed to the literary scene of the 19th century and continued writing under various pseudonyms, some of which were later attributed to her by literary scholars.
