David Masson

David Masson
David Masson (1822–1907) was a Scottish academic, literary critic, and historian known for his influential works on English literature. He held the position of Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh from 1865 to 1895. One of his most notable works is the biography "Life of John Milton," a comprehensive seven-volume study of the poet's life and writings. Masson also edited and contributed to various literary periodicals, helping shape the study of English literature in his time.
