Claude Phillips
Claude Phillips (1846–1924) was a British art historian, critic, and writer, known for his contributions to art history and museum curation. He was the first Keeper of the Wallace Collection in London, where he played a pivotal role in organizing and enhancing its reputation. Phillips wrote several books on art and artists, including "The Earlier Work of Titian" and "Frederick Walker and His Works." His writings often combined scholarly analysis with an accessible, engaging style, making him a respected figure in the art world of his time.
