Clara Kern Bayliss (1848–1948) was an American educator, folklorist, and children's writer. She is best known for her works on Native American mythology, including "A Treasury of Indian Tales" and "Old Man Coyote." Bayliss also wrote educational books and stories for young readers, blending folklore with moral lessons. Her writing contributed to preserving Native American legends while making them accessible to a wider audience, particularly children.
