Charles Alexander McMurry
Charles Alexander McMurry (1857–1929) was an influential American educator and author known for his work on curriculum and pedagogy. He emphasized the importance of organizing school subjects around "larger units of thought" and practical life applications. McMurry wrote several books, including "The Elements of General Method" and "The Method of the Recitation," which were foundational in teacher education. His ideas contributed to the progressive education movement, promoting structured yet student-centered learning.
