Bonaventure Hammer
Bonaventure Hammer (1842–1917) was a German-born American Franciscan priest and author known for his religious writings and translations. He wrote several devotional and spiritual books, including "The Life of St. Francis of Assisi" and "Mary, Help of Christians." Hammer also translated numerous theological works from German to English, making Catholic teachings more accessible to English-speaking audiences. His writings were widely used in religious education and devotion in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
