Annie S. (Annie Shepherd) Swan
Annie Shepherd Swan (1859–1943) was a Scottish novelist and journalist known for her prolific output of popular fiction. Writing under her own name as well as the pen name David Lyall, she produced novels, short stories, and articles that often focused on themes of domestic life and morality. Some of her best-known works include "Aldersyde" and "Maitland of Laurieston," which were widely read in her time. Beyond fiction, she was also active in social causes, particularly women's suffrage and temperance movements.
