Allan Pinkerton
Allan Pinkerton was a Scottish-American detective and spy, best known for founding the Pinkerton National Detective Agency in 1850. He played a significant role in developing investigative techniques and was instrumental in thwarting a plot to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln in 1861. Pinkerton's agency also provided intelligence services to the Union Army during the Civil War, contributing to his legacy as a pioneer in the field of private security and investigation.
