Alfred S. (Alfred Seelye) Roe
Alfred Seelye Roe (1844–1917) was an American educator, historian, and writer. He authored several historical and biographical works, focusing on the Civil War, educational reforms, and local histories. Among his notable works are "The Twenty-Fourth Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers" and "The Centennial History of the Town of West Boylston, Massachusetts". Roe's contributions also included teaching and active participation in veterans' organizations, reflecting his own experience as a Union Army soldier during the Civil War.
