William Malone Baskervill
William Malone Baskervill (1850–1899) was an American educator and philologist, best known for his contributions to the study of English grammar and literature. He was a professor of English at Vanderbilt University, where he influenced Southern intellectual circles. Baskervill co-authored several important texts, including "An English Grammar" (with James Witt Sewell), which became a widely used textbook. Additionally, he wrote "Southern Writers: Biographical and Critical Studies," contributing to the appreciation of Southern literature.
