William Lloyd Garrison
William Lloyd Garrison was a prominent American abolitionist, journalist, and social reformer best known for his staunch opposition to slavery. He founded and edited the influential abolitionist newspaper "The Liberator" in 1831, which advocated for immediate emancipation of all enslaved people in the United States. Garrison also co-founded the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1833 and became a key figure in the movement for racial equality. His activism extended beyond abolitionism, as he also supported women's rights and other social reforms.
