Wilfred Thomason Grenfell
Wilfred Thomason Grenfell was a British medical missionary renowned for his work in Newfoundland and Labrador. Born in 1865, he initially pursued a medical career but became deeply committed to missionary work after being inspired by the evangelical movement. Grenfell wrote several books based on his experiences, including "Labrador Days" and "Adrift on an Ice-Pan," which detailed his efforts to improve healthcare in remote communities. His humanitarian work earned him widespread recognition, and he was knighted in 1927 for his services to medicine and the people of Labrador.

As a boy, that was all for which I cared. Still, I...

In the broad definition of the Master it means "all those who are not against us." The way in which men associate for worship, or in which they consider it most remunerative to invest their efforts to forward the kingdom, gives them no right to arrogate to...

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH "Most Noble Vice-Chancellor, and You, Eminent Proctors: "A citizen of Britain is before you, once a student in this University, now better known to the people of the New World than to our own. This is the man who fifteen years ago went to the coast of Labrador, to succor with medical aid the solitary fishermen of the northern sea; in executing which service he despised the...
