Spenser Wilkinson
Spenser Wilkinson (1853–1937) was a British military historian and journalist known for his advocacy of military preparedness and national defense. He held the position of the first Chichele Professor of Military History at the University of Oxford. Wilkinson's works, such as "The Brain of an Army" and "The Nation's Awakening," reflected his belief in the importance of strategic foresight and the need for a professional army. He also contributed to shaping public and government opinion on military matters during the early 20th century.
