Sidney Colvin
Sidney Colvin (1845–1927) was an English curator, literary and art critic, and close friend of the writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Colvin served as the Slade Professor of Fine Art at Cambridge University and was later appointed Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum. He is well known for his biographical and editorial work on Stevenson, particularly the posthumous collection of Stevenson’s letters, "The Letters of Robert Louis Stevenson." Colvin also published several books on art and literature, including "Early Engravers and Engraving in England" and was instrumental in bringing attention to the works of prominent artists and writers of his time.
