Sara Teasdale
Sara Teasdale (1884–1933) was an American lyric poet known for her elegant, emotionally expressive poetry that often focused on love, beauty, and death. Her collection "Love Songs" won the first Columbia University Poetry Society Prize (later known as the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry) in 1918. Teasdale's other notable works include "Rivers to the Sea" and "Flame and Shadow," which further showcased her delicate yet poignant style. Despite her literary success, Teasdale's life ended tragically when she took her own life in 1933.
