Saki
Saki, the pen name of British writer Hector Hugh Munro (1870–1916), is best known for his witty, macabre short stories that often satirize Edwardian society. His works, such as "The Open Window" and "The Lumber Room," are characterized by their dark humor and twist endings. Saki's writing style blends elements of irony, cruelty, and clever dialogue, making him a master of the short story form. Tragically, he died in World War I, cutting short a career that had a profound influence on modern short fiction.
