Royal Dixon (1885–1962) was an American writer, naturalist, and advocate for animal rights. He authored numerous works, including "The Human Side of Plants" (1914) and "The Human Side of Animals" (1918), which reflected his interest in connecting human experiences to the natural world. Dixon also founded the First Church of Animal Rights in the 1920s, promoting the ethical treatment of animals. His writings often emphasized the intelligence and emotional lives of plants and animals, blending science with compassion.
