Palmer Cox
Palmer Cox was a Canadian author and illustrator best known for creating "The Brownies", a series of whimsical, fairy-like characters that gained widespread popularity in the late 19th century. His most famous work, "The Brownies: Their Book" (1887), introduced these mischievous, helpful creatures through playful rhymes and illustrations, making him a pioneer in children's literature.
