Odell Shepard
Odell Shepard (1884–1967) was an American author, educator, and politician known for his contributions to literature and historical scholarship. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography in 1938 for "Pedlar's Progress," a detailed biography of the transcendentalist and inventor Bronson Alcott. Shepard was also a professor of English at Trinity College in Connecticut, where he inspired generations of students with his passion for literature. In addition to his work in biography, he published essays, poetry, and books on American folklore, solidifying his legacy as a versatile and thoughtful writer.
