Maurice Nicoll
Maurice Nicoll (1884–1953) was a British psychiatrist, author, and prominent disciple of G.I. Gurdjieff and P.D. Ouspensky, two influential figures in the Fourth Way, a spiritual system that integrates Eastern esoteric teachings with Western philosophy. Nicoll is best known for his five-volume work "Psychological Commentaries on the Teaching of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky," where he interprets and expands on their teachings. His book "The New Man" delves into Christian esoteric concepts, exploring deeper meanings within the Bible. Trained in both medicine and psychology, Nicoll applied his background to merge psychological insight with spiritual development, emphasizing inner transformation and self-observation.
