Maria Parloa
Maria Parloa was an American author, educator, and chef known for her contributions to domestic science and cookery in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She founded the famous Miss Parloa's School of Cooking in Boston and became a pioneer in promoting practical, economical cooking methods. Among her well-known works are "Miss Parloa's New Cook Book" and "The Appledore Cook Book," which offered accessible recipes and household advice. Parloa was also an advocate for food education and worked with companies like the Nestlé Corporation to promote food products and nutrition.
