Maksim Gorky
Maksim Gorky (1868–1936) was a Russian writer and political activist, best known for his influence on socialist realism and his support for the Bolshevik cause. He authored several iconic works, including "Mother" and "The Lower Depths," which portrayed the struggles of the working class and the poor in Russian society. Gorky's experiences growing up in poverty greatly shaped his literary voice, emphasizing social justice and human dignity. Despite tensions with the Soviet regime, he was a central figure in Russian literature and culture during the early 20th century.
