M. (Francois-Auguste-Marie-Alexis) Mignet
François Auguste Marie Mignet (1796–1884) was a French historian and journalist, best known for his works on the French Revolution. He played an important role in shaping the liberal historiography of the era, emphasizing rationalism and progress in his writings. His most famous work, "History of the French Revolution from 1789 to 1814," provided a clear, concise narrative that gained wide recognition. Mignet also served in various administrative and diplomatic roles, including as director of the Archives at the French Foreign Ministry.
