Joseph Martin Kronheim
Joseph Martin Kronheim (1810–1896) was a German-born artist and wood engraver who gained prominence in Victorian England. He is best known for his work in children's literature, including colorful illustrations and engravings in books such as "The Dog's Dinner Party" and "The Alphabet of Flowers." Kronheim was a pioneer in the Baxter process of color printing, which allowed for vivid and affordable illustrations. His contributions significantly enhanced the appeal of illustrated children's books in the 19th century.
