Joseph Lewis (1889–1968) was an American secularist, atheist, and freethinker who became a prominent advocate for rationalism and criticism of religion. He served as president of the Freethinkers of America and was known for his outspoken opposition to organized religion. Lewis authored several influential works, including "The Tyranny of God" and "The Bible Unmasked," which criticized religious texts and institutions. Through his speeches, writings, and leadership, Lewis played a significant role in the early 20th-century secularist and atheist movements in the United States.
