Johnny Gruelle
Johnny Gruelle was an American author, illustrator, and cartoonist best known for creating the beloved children's characters Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy. He first introduced Raggedy Ann in his 1918 book "Raggedy Ann Stories" and later followed it with "Raggedy Andy Stories" in 1920. Gruelle's whimsical illustrations and gentle storytelling made his characters iconic in American children's literature. Aside from his Raggedy Ann series, he also worked on political cartoons and illustrated for magazines and newspapers.
