John R. (John Roy) Musick
John Roy Musick (1849–1901) was an American author and historian known for his works of historical fiction and biographies. He wrote extensively about early American history, with notable books including "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean" and "Pocahontas." His "Columbian Historical Novels" series is especially well-known, blending historical events with fiction. Musick's writings reflected a strong patriotic tone, and he aimed to make American history accessible to the public through engaging narratives.
